A Song of Promise

 If the LORD had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. Psalms 94:17-19
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. John 10:27-29

In the midst of our trauma, it is normal to feel that we can’t hold on to God. We fear that if we can’t hold on to God, we are doomed. We need not fear because God loves us, not because we are strong and able to remain faithful to Him, but because he is strong and faithful towards us. Through temptation and doubt, he will hold us fast. Jesus promised that “no one is able to snatch us out of the Father’s hand” (John 10:29).
