Putting Paul's List Into Action

Looking for divine power to activate Paul’s list and destroy the stronghold of traumatic memories? 

                            Paul offers hope in 2 Corinthians 10:3-6.

​For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.  

• Each Christian has weapons that have divine power to destroy destructive thoughts that oppose God’s knowledge:
• thoughts of despair, hopelessness.  
• arguments that God has forgotten us, is not in control,
• thoughts that there is no hope, that there is no healing.  ​

These are lies. What are these weapons?  

• Prayer - talking honestly to God like to a friend about what we feel, need, and desire. Talking often to God. Lamenting, asking!  But also taking time to be quiet and listen. Paul says, “Pray without ceasing”  1 Thessalonians 5:17. 
• Read the Bible - even when you don’t feel like it!  
• Listen to and sing Christian songs of hope and trust. 
• Memorize Scripture verses and songs.  What you memorize is what you will think about!  Good thoughts defeat Satan’s lies. It is that simple!
