My passion is building vibrant spirit-filled creative communities that can springboard local churches' effectiveness in evangelism, fellowship, discipleship and worship |
Seven of my greatest joys
1) Presenting practical ideas that build unity and spiritual maturity 2) Helping churches meet the diverse worship needs and desires of different personalities, cultures, generations, and maturity levels 3) Helping leaders understand the dynamics of change as well as uncover the different presuppositions that people possess—presuppositions that are often hidden, but are clearly the cause of tensions and conflicts 4) Developing excellent ensembles (worship teams, choral, instrumental) that are committed to glorifying God in performance, music and character 5) Studying biblical principles of worship that are transcultural, contextual, counter-cultural and cross-cultural 6) Helping artists, church leaders and believers catch God’s vision for the special place arts have in the church 7) Helping artists understand their unique gifting and helping churches understand artists I feel called to help churches and Christian schools build spirit-filled creative communities. Creative teams that are part of such communities must be shaped and moulded by Scripture and helped to integrate art and faith, culture and church. My heart is saddened by the realization that God’s vision for the crucial place of creativity in all aspects of the life of the church is often not seen or experienced. Yet in most cases it is only a step away - the step of creative teams taking time to study the rich resources in God’s word and integrate them with practice so that God’s wonderful gift of creativity can be used to build unity and spiritual maturity. |
